My friend shot a mountain lion. He boiled the skull and wasn't happy with the results. I offered to take it and degrease/whiten it. The following pictures and text are about the process I went through.
Before:
Some of the small front teeth had been super glued in place. I soaked the front of the skull in acetone to dissolve the glue so I could remove the small teeth.
First water change for the lion after being in the degreasing tank:
